The Sungale digital photo frame cannot play music or audio files. While these frames claim to be able to connect to platforms like Netflix and YouTube, it’s extremely difficult and complicated to set up. Even when connected, Sungale’s frames have poor audio quality and volume. Additionally, they cannot connect to external speakers or headphones for a more enhanced viewing experience.

Audio files like songs and other music can be played over slideshows from a connected USB/SD card. In the real world, many of these more “advanced” features rarely work well. They are very difficult to set up and connect these features. It’s part of the reasons why Sungale’s frames are so poorly rated on platforms like Amazon.

These frames have some of the worst reviews and ratings on Amazon at this price point. They’re extremely complicated to set up and well beyond what most people are willing to deal with. Photos are cycled properly in slideshows – often just repeating a small selection of photos while ignoring most others.
Free storage is limited to 18GB (8GB local and 10GB on the cloud) which fills up pretty quickly for families. Most of the features don’t work well and the claimed video & movie support aren’t practically functional. Other top features like the ability to import photos from social media are near-impossible to set up. With lackluster customer support and no clear documentation, these frames are not worth the money.

Finally, Sungale’s frame uses a touchscreen – which we don’t recommend. They’re a lot more expensive than non-touch frames, leading to features and performance being sacrificed to keep the frame competitively priced. Touchscreens are less durable, prone to scratching, and require constant cleaning to avoid ruining the viewing experience. Pix-Star’s remote configuration feature and handheld remote make the touchscreen unnecessary and redundant.
How to send pictures to the Sungale digital photo frame?
There are two ways to send photos to the Sungale digital photo frame. the first and most popular way is the use of the email function. Here you can send an email to the receiving frame’s address. It’s then added to the frame’s manager’s photo queue. The manager then needs to approve the photos, at which point they’re be loaded to and saved on the frame’s internal storage.
It’s worth noting that you only get 8GB of internal storage and 10GB of free cloud storage. This cloud storage fills up relatively quickly as photos are backed up to the cloud. Once you’ve used this 10GB of cloud storage (it’s cumulative, not current), you will have to purchase additional storage. We rarely recommend buying subscription-based digital frames or those with hidden fees as their long terms severely impact their value for money when compared with top frames like the Pix-Star.
The other way to load photos to the Sungale digital photo frame is by USB/SD card. while there is a plug & play feature, it seldom works well. You’ll find that the frame plays the same selection of photos (usually less than 20 photos) repeatedly – often ignoring all the other photos on the USB/SD card. Additionally, you have little to no control over slideshow settings of the play order & frequency of photos.
