Does the Jeemak digital picture frame use a touchscreen?

The Jeemak digital picture frame uses a touchscreen and touch interface to manage and control the frame’s settings and slideshows. We don’t usually recommend touchscreen digital frames as they’re less durable, more prone to scratching, and the screen needs to be constantly wiped down to avoid ruining the viewing experience.

Touchscreen displays are quite a bit more expensive than non-touch panels when the screen size gets larger than 8-inches. This higher cost needs to be recuperated by sacrificing other features and functions (usually cloud storage, versatile settings, and screen resolution).

Top digital frames like the Pix-Star make the touchscreen unnecessary through features like remote configuration, web album support, motion sensors, auto-on/off schedules, and the handheld remote. This saved cost can be poured into the frame more versatile, offering a more user-friendly interface, and building reliable real-world performance that lives up to – and exceeds – expectations.

Does the Jeemak digital picture frame use USB/SD cards?

The Jeemak digital picture frame can receive photos by USB/SD card. It’s worth noting that you can’t play slideshows directly off the connected USB/SD card. Rather, you have to transfer photos to the frame’s internal storage first. Only then can they be played in slideshows or viewed individually.

By contrast, many other top digital frames let you play slideshows from the USB/SD card without copying anything to their internal storage first. It’s a faster and more efficient way to share photos as you don’t need to worry about internal storage space being used up.

Can Jeemak digital picture frames save pictures to the cloud?

Jeemak digital picture frames don’t offer any cloud connectivity or storage. While you can send photos to the frame via the mobile app, this doesn’t automatically save the photos to the cloud as Pix-Star digital frames do. If you want to back your photos up to the cloud, you need to manually download them and save them on a third-party cloud storage platform like Google Photos.

This is one of the reasons that we highly recommend getting a digital frame with both cloud storage and web album support. For example, Pix-Star’s frames can import photo albums directly from social media, photo-sharing, and online storage platforms to its internal storage. These web albums are saved for offline use and can be remotely managed from anywhere in the world.

How does the Jeemak digital picture frame compare with the Pix-Star?

The Jeemak digital picture frame doesn’t have the features, functionality, or real-world performance that Pix-Star offers – though this is expected. Pix-Star’s frames are some of the best on today’s market. They offer a robust and capable feature set through extensive cloud & Wi-Fi connectivity. You can send & receive photos from anywhere in the world, remotely control up to 25 Pix-Star frames from a single account, remote start & manage slideshows & storage, and much more.

Pix-Star’s frames offer versatile slideshow settings and controls. You can create unique collages, you have control over play order & frequency, along with a ton of visual and style customizations. Pix-Star’s 4:3 aspect is more versatile than Jeemak’s 16:9 display. Since most smartphones capture photos in 4:3, they’ll display better on the Pix-Star frame without any editing, cropping, or distortion.

Pix-Star’s frames are arguably the best digital frame for families & elderly users – and they’re surprisingly affordable. There are no recurring costs, you get free-for-life cloud storage, a superior mobile app, and much more. They’re ideal for the modern home & family – and you don’t need to worry about fingerprints or scratching the touchscreen (a common issue with Jeemak’s frames).

In the end, Pix-Star’s frames offer great value for money, ease of use, and are one of the most capable frames to date. They’re not a whole lot pricier than Jeemak’s frames and make photo-sharing effortless (and automated in some cases). Pix-Star’s frames are available as either a 10-inch or larger 15-inch version.

How to send photos to the Jeemak digital picture frame?

There are two ways to send photos to the Jeemak digital picture frame. The first and quickest way is through the Frameo mobile app. This app is quite limited when it comes to sending several photos to several frames at the same time – especially when compared to what top apps like the Pix-Star Snap can do (send up to 250 photos to several Pix-Star frames at the same time).

Jeemak’s mobile app only lets you send one photo at a time. There are a couple of steps that need to be completed before sending the photos. For example, you need to place the most important part of the photo in a circle before sending it. This helps the frame better display the photo in both landscape and portrait. The issue is that it drastically slows down the sending process and only lets you send one image at a time – to one frame at a time. You can add several frames to the app, but you’ll need to send pictures to each frame individually.

The other method for sending photos to the Jeemak digital picture frame is by USB/SD card. It’s worth noting that there’s no plug & play feature – meaning you can’t play slideshows directly off a connected USB/SD card without copying its content to the frame’s internal storage. For reference, Pix-Star’s frames let you connect and play slideshows off a connected USB/SD card. Pix-Star doesn’t restrict the maximum size of connected USB/SD cards; whereas Jeemak digital frame only supports USB/SD cards smaller than 32GB.

For comparison, Pix-Star’s digital frames let you send photos by a mobile app (up to 250 at once), email, USB/SD card, and through the web interface. Pix-Star’s web album feature lets you import photo albums directly from social media, photo-sharing, and online storage platforms. Almost a dozen platforms are supported (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive & Photos, etc.) and you can link the same albums to multiple frames. Pix-Star also lets you set linked web albums to automatically sync any photos that get added to the connected album in the future – automating much of the photo-sharing process.
